Spelling/Vocabulary

• NONE
• Students will have vocabulary in conjunction with the Novel

Writing/Grammar

•  Shurley Method Will be taught in Mrs. Daniels and Mrs. Powers Language Arts Class
• 6th grade may have writing assignments that pertain to reading class and reading activities.

Reading

• 4/7-11 Kansas Assessments
• 4/14 students will be completing a web quest (limited websites) to obtain back ground information before reading Daniel's Story

(Other Ks Reading Standards addressed 6.1.3.1 Context clues; 6.1.4.5 Inference;  6.1.4.6 Sequencing;   6.1.4.4 Questioning -- responds logically to a variety of critical thinking questions; 6.2.1.3 Major and minor events; 6.1.2.1-6.1.2.5 uses knowledge to read fluently, reads expressively; 6.2.1.1-6.2.1.5 characters, setting, events, theme, literary devices.)
