Sacred Heart School Praised
for Accomplishments
Sacred Heart School culminated its five
year North Central Association school improvement cycle by
hosting a visiting team review on Thursday, April 21st. The
four member visiting team met with the staff to review test
data and discuss interventions that have been implemented
to help improve student achievement in the targeted areas
of problem-solving/math computation, reading comprehension,
and writing.
The staff of Sacred Heart School received accolades from
the review team for their commitment and positive support
of the school improvement process. Some comments made by team
members were:
“I have been impressed with the staff and school throughout
this process. They have shown interest, growth, and made changes
to meet the individual needs of students.”
“The school’s efforts are to be commended. The
staff is a cohesive group willing to learn and implement writing
techniques across curricular areas including technology.”
“There is a spirit of excitement and pride that is
evident in the faculty. Their enthusiasm and confidence is
shown in the quality of their teamwork. They show caring,
cohesiveness, and consistency in their achievements in the
NCA cycle.”
“The results of assessment scores speak to the effectiveness
of the efforts of the Sacred Heart staff. It is obvious that
the staff has worked together and has developed activities
and schedules that assist students in achieving reading success.
The school and community have been very committed to providing
and expanding programs to increase reading comprehension.”
The Sacred Heart School staff will start a new five-year
NCA cycle next school year. They will begin by reviewing test
data and student learning trends and will use that information
to select new target area goals for student improvement.
